Button Could Have Crossed the Line

Honda team boss Nick Fry has admitted the team told Jenson Button not to cross the start-finish line after his engine let go just before the chequered flag of the Australian Grand Prix. Button may have been able to finish in 5th place which would have earnt him 3 points. However, doing so would have meant he’d require an engine change post-race, which would result in a 10-position grid penalty in the next race in Imola.

Knowing Jenson’s luck he’ll crash out of Imola anyway and come 2nd in this years championship, 3 points behind the winner.. ;)
