Kimi on Ice

The 2006 Monaco Grand Prix marks McLaren’s 40th anniversary in Formula One. They are the second most successful team, not far behind Ferrari. To mark the occasion, Steinmetz created a diamond-encrusted steering wheel for Kimi Raikkonen and Juan Pablo Montoya that is being used during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.

The show-stopper however, was a full-scale replica of this year’s McLaren F1 car - made out of ice!! 2 tonnes of ice were used to make the replica. Naturally, Kimi ‘Iceman’ Raikkonen got the opportunity to sit in the ice car.
