God! I WISH someone would start a petition to get rid of james allen, what a twerp he is so false and pretentious. it really spoils my F1 experience listening to him for an hour and a half. why the hell is he there with so many other talented commentators out there, I guess he knew the right people!

I have to disagree that Massa is trying to do some fake motivational pumping thing - you cant really begrudge him some genuine excitement that he's won 2 races on the bounce and got back into the title race, after a messy start to the year. And why wouldnt he want a good rapport with the team? What with a sulky and hitherto slow Raikonnen, if I was Massa i would see a big opportunity to establish myself as a surprise team leader at this early stage. You wouldnt expect him to have got out of the throttle in the first corner either, as he did indeed have the inside - that is what F1 is all about in any case, wheel to wheel racing.

As for James Allen, what a shocker of a decision to replace Murray with him... if I had a quid for every time i heard him optimistically say "there's a great scrap developing" when somebody gets within 100 yards of the car in front...

Clone_A - Don't even get me started about Murray Walker.. ;) But funny you should mention Murray - an analogy with him could explain my views on Massa.

The way I see it, Felipe is desperate to fill the void that Schumacher left, just like James Allen is desperate to fill Murray's shoes. I remember when James first took over how fake his "excitement" sounded (still does really, but I'm used to it now).. Murray's excitement was electric and you just can't fake it.

But you're right.. I'm a little harsh on Massa so it's good to hear what other people think of him. :)

Paula - I thought I heard there was a petition going around in the UK to get rid of James? Seems that story could be true with the amount of dislike so far..

But how about we have a James Allen fan comment? Are there any? :)

Thank goodness someone feels the same way I do about that damn James Allen, eventually had to switch the commentary off, it was so annoying, could not stand it any more. They carried on and on about Alonso's big mistake at the start..its was no mistake, it was one of the only overtaking opportunities on the track, and he had to go for it!...so it did not work, if it had, he would have been a hero!

Good comments, James Allen is an ass. turning into the next Murry Walker. Can't say that I agree with the comments on Massa though.. how do you know he wasnt really amped about the team and so forth...? Just because something appears a certain way doesnt necessarily mean it is that way. Besides.. he seemed totally sincere to me. He didnt almost cause an accident, he had the line into the corner! Alonso almost caused an accident! But it is racing so its to be expected. Alonso risked - hoping Massa would back down to avoid an accident - but he didnt, so the risk didnt pay off. Tough titties.
