I enjoyed the double front row starts, the double podium finishes were really good, leading both championships left me comfortable but the best thing you have to look forward to is losing the championship at the last couple of races when you know you should have won!

This was good race! As you mentioned dScribe, lots of midfield action throughout which was nice to see.

I was surprised to see Hamilton struggling so much when he came into lap traffic. He always seems to handle traffice so well off the strarting line. Even though I am a big fan, I am anxious to see him start from the back of the grid to see how he copes. With the McLarens performing the way they are I am sure it would be a great performance.

I too am waiting to see the BMWs challenge the leaders as the season develops, that will make for some great racing.

Stephen, thanks for the best wishes. Us Mclaren fans have had a rough few seasons with many disappointments...so we jump all over Ferrari when possible (also on behalf of BMW, Honda, Toyota...etc.) So from your experience as a Ferarri fan, what aspect should I be enjoying most right now? The double front row starts, the double podium finishes, a nice lead in both championships, or a rookie performance that has never before been seen? Sorry, I guess that last one is not really fair ;)

Hi all. I was a bit disappointed with Alonso's insinuation that Mclaren should have moved him in front of Hamilton as he had the 'faster car', he's the double world champion, he should put in his own work. I think some of the top teams and drivers have got stuck into the rut of race strategy that they have forgotten its about putting your foot down an toughing it out (just ask Jenson!). Personally I think its great that the two top teams don't have the very defined first and second drivers of previous years (even if this has come a a bit of a surprise to Fernando!). dScribe, your right about crashing into each other, its going to end in tears!!

Stephen - Come on.. no one has as bad luck as Johnny Herbert! hehe ;) Seriously though, "bad luck" and Michael Schumacher never go in the same sentence.. the guy is the luckiest driver of all time (didn't he go a few seasons without his car failing?). :)

Sam - Nice to have you on board and look forward to more comments in the future :) Even though Canada and the US are 2 tracks Fernando doesn't like, he really should have done better.

I wouldn't be surprised if Fernando and Lewis crash into each other in France - either at the start of the race or more likely the first hairpin. If it happens, can't wait to see how much hate Fernando gets from the British press even if it's Lewis' fault.. ;)

Hi dScribe,

No i havent posted before, i only found the site yesterday!!

Personally i think that if Alonso was quicker he could have taken Lewis on that lap(39). I do agree tho that if Alonso was in clear air he could have been quicker but we can only speculate, and like you said he just didnt have it when in mattered in quali.

I can't wait until france to see how the two guys battle it out on the track as its somewhere they are both familiar with, it will be gloves off for them!!

Gonna put this to you tho, for 2 tracks he has never raced befor Lewis was fantastic and flawless even behind the safety car in canada!!
I know you might think they're Alonso's least favoured tracks and thats why he didn't do so well but he finished in his personal best place in the us so i comend him for that.

I am soooo disapointed with Ferrari at the moment, Kimi in particular. But I will remain true to them and take heart from the fact that last year this time Schumi (Best driver EVER!) was also way behind in the championship only to come charging through to equal Fernando before having the worst luck since Johnny Herbert left F1.

So McLaren fans, enjoy your time now - it will be over soon. :-) (Just for you Jason!)

Hi Paula :) It was a very busy start to the week so I didn't get a chance earlier sorry.. nice to know someone noticed the delay actually :) I'll try to be more efficient in the future hehe ;)

As you're an Alonso fan you should take comfort in the fact that the Canadian and US GPs are his most disliked GPs, so he might be able to claw his way back to the top in the next few rounds :)

Well, personally I think Hamilton should have moved over and let Alonso take his rightful position on the podium! I watched the qualifying and I could not believe Alonso missed out on pole position.....but then I am biased! Hamilton is good....but his LUCK must run out sometime!
The Maclarens are fantastic this season.
dScribe u were late with your posting this week.....what happened!

Welcome to the site Sam :) Can't recall if you've commented before?

In all honesty you'd have to admit if Alonso was in clear air he probably would have been a lot quicker than Hamilton in the 2nd stint? Alonso was faster all weekend but cracked when it counted (qualifying).

Will be interesting to see how Lewis goes if he ever has to start from the back of the grid. Norbert Haug has warned these difficult times will come. Lewis may shine or he might slip up. But it's these difficult times where championships are won and he might just pull it off. :)

What a fantastic drive for Lewis this sunday. I think he did really well in keeping Alonso of the top spot, Alonso didn't do himself any favours by tryin to leave the track a couple of times. We also have to remember it is only a 70second track so it is pretty hard to pull away cuz you'll just end up in traffic. If you look at the lap times you will find that Lewis was consistant and quicker than Alonso on almost every lap.
As to the comment "What will happen when Lewis doesn’t start from pole?"
Just look at the overtaking he did at the begining of the season. Also i will ask us all to remember he is only in his rookie season so i cant wait to see what the future holds for him and british motor sport!!
