Seems the FIA waited for an opportunity where McLaren had more people involved in the spy scandal than Ferrari. We shouldn't forget that when it was just Cohglan and Stepney involved, action regarding article 151c couldn't be taken without prosecuting the Maranello squad as well. Now with the number's in their favour (or rather inversely so..) Ferrari can get off scott-free despite violating the same rule.

Do as I say not as I do.

if mclaren had used the info they would be as slow as the ferrari
or is mosley so thick he cant realise this.
it is obvious he should wear a red suit to all fia meetings.

Yes, Fernando finally got it together for an impressive race and the victory! I think that Hamilton also had a great drive...I am liking his aggressive style, bending the rules but not breaking them.

Unfortunate circumstances for Massa. I think that he could have succeeded where Kimi did not in pushing one of the Mclarens off the podium.

I have no doubt in my mind that Kimi's neck was sore, he sure hit hard in practice. That combined with the strain of trying to see a way around the Silver Arrows :)

Of course I have to complain about the outcome of Mclaren Spy Scandal. It is hard to have an opinion when so few details of the evidence have been released....but hey that never stopped me before ;)

To me, based on what we have been told the outcome is a joke! I mean the $100 million is not such a big deal, make it $150 million if they want. Give $100 million to the F1 governing body to promote the sport and $50 million to Jean Todt to finish making payments on his bride to be (I am starting to feel sorry for the old pervert as he seems to think they are engaged and she seems to think they are not).

What bothers me is taking away the constucters championship from the team. If there is indisputable evidence that there are elements of the Ferrari design used to benefit the McLarens then stop them from racing for the rest of the year altogether. If not, then leave it alone.

If this is about the image of the sport being tarnished, then Ferrari should be equally responsible as Nigel Stephney was just as guilty as Mike Coughlan. Hopefully these two are both banned from working anywhere near any aspect of Formula One.

Maybe a more suitable punishment would be for them to push the Toro Rosso car back to the pits, while wearing nothing but pink ballerina dresses, everytime Liuzzi DNFs....

WOO!
LOL @ Webber comment!
I was happy that Fernando won. He had a great race!
Keep in mind that Kimi did have a bad neck during the race, he even said during the post-race conference that he was finding it hard to keep his head up under breaking.

Apparently Ron Dennis is not too worried about the cash, saying Mclaren turns over between £450-500 in million in a season and have no debt, so as harsh as it sounds, its all relative. So how come Ferrari cannot keep up with Mclaren if they used the Ferrari "blue-print"...don't get it! Did any money change hands for this "information". Hope this does not affect the pit crews....perhaps no big bonus this year....have to keep an eye on them!
Its all too much...."Ferrari-gate"...!!

Well you can read my views on my unofficial blog Maya, but I thinks Jackie Stewart's got it right - The punishment doesn't fit the 'crime', but if there's more to this we should have been told more earlier. Tell me one team's drivers that haven't discussed Ferrari set-up! When the music stops, whoevers left talking gets fined.

Yeah, what's with the decision....I mean $100 mill seems a bit 2 much, doesn't it? I hope McLaren will put an appeal on this "verdict"....and did you hear what Max Mosely said: "Justice is served".....COME ON
I'm just glad they didn't take the points from the guys, because technically they didn't have anything to do with this. :( :(

Paula - It really is all about Q3 isn't it? Personally I hate the qualifying system. I wish they'd just keep it simple like when Senna and Prost used to duke it out.. it was so simple then - you put on the softest tires available and you can thrash it out for an hour to do your best lap.

Haha! I'd never heard the Murray quote about Schumacher being one of the 5 races so far!! :)

Maya - Yeah, you have to feel sorry for Massa.. even Kimi too. It's a sad year for Ferrari especially with the decision against McLaren today (meaning Ferrari will take the constructors championship - but how hollow is that victory??).

Dean - Hmm.. maybe we should do a post where people put their favourite Murray Walker quotes? What do you think? :)

bottleJuice - You're right, technically it's an Aussie site but the audience is well spread over the world :) Very smart! ;)
