Ok, so the shape of the car looks a little better… I think… hard to tell… the McLaren-style “horns” near the airbox certainly make it look cooler… and there’s no funny Honda wing… But what on earth (no pun intended) are the marketing department at Honda thinking!? White car with a blob on it that could be planet Earth but we’re not quite sure..? Come on guys. This is beyond a joke.

But here we’re all about Formula 1 fun, so nothing’s beyond a joke… We were able to spot a photo of what’s thought to be the Honda marketing department working on some ideas for the 2008 livery before the launch:

Not only have Spyker released a range of branded mobile phones (which seem like a budget version of the Vertu Ferrari offerings), they’ve also released some media/MP3 players and other gadgets. Will we see an Acer notebook next ala Ferrari?

Not even McLaren pass the test this year (and they are the team when it comes to style). Their car looks great, but their uniforms have been shocking ever since that ugly pinky-red gradient shirt last year..

Seriously guys, inject some colour into the field! And no, I don’t mean red.. that’s used almost as much as white…

The first gem of information we got from Ron Dennis was that Fernando Alonso was running heavy fuel loads toward the end of practice – thus the reason for his fall from a dominant pace. With that said, Ferrari still look to be slightly ahead, but not by too much.

Here are some other notable items..

Honda Livery – Looks rubbish on track as expected! Well, it’s ok if you want to look like a Mild Seven Benetton when Schumacher was there..

Christijan Albers – Man, did this guy lose the plot or what? Not only did he do more lawn mowing than driving, but he was very lucky not to hit anyone. If it was actually a race and not practice he would have looked like a star

Lewis Hamilton – Great start. Great car. What more can be said?

Jenson Button – Dude, even Anthony Davidson will probably beat you in this race.. Honda should spend less money on their paintwork and more on their car development.

Super Aguri – Fantastic start for the team courtesy of Honda 2006

Mark Webber – He might be good if his cars didn’t keep breaking down (or maybe it’s how he drives them)?

Williams – Fairly good start and will probably beat Toyota come race day.

2007 Spyker:

That all changed when I saw a close-up of the 2007 Spyker.. WOW! This is seriously a great paintjob – the gun-metal is gorgeous! Well done to the Spyker guys! We pay you out a lot, but when you do good we’ll certainly give creds where they’re deserved!

Very sneaky indeed. But I have to say the Marlboro text looks great on this years car (why on earth did you persist with a lot of white in the past Ferrari!? )

Ok people, what do you think of Honda’s 2007 Earth Livery?

Thankfully, it turns out Kimi was testing last year’s Ferrari 248, and not this years Ferrari F2007. Now the question is, can you spot the difference between the two cars other than their livery? I can only spot one difference.. Let’s see how you do. :)

The other disturbing thing is that Kimi’s new helmet makes it look like Jean Alesi is back behind the wheel!! Or maybe Michael Schumacher in his pre-red-helmet days.. Why do drivers these days change their helmets more than Felipe Massa changes his underpants?
